In this chapter, William gets a message from Elaine inviting him to come over to his old house and pick up his Dad's car. Arriving there rather late at night and encountering Elaine in nothing but a see-through nightie, he is immediately tempted by her charms - and although it is not quite clear who exactly is seducing who at this point, the very presence of sexual tension between the two is unmistakable.
